The True Blue Foundation is the non-profit arm of Northern Colorado Sports Officials- an organization committed to serving the Northern Colorado Community for over 12 years. The donations that are not raised during events, like the golf tournament primarily, come through donations from officials that give small portions of their game checks, such as 10% of their pay, $3 a game, or $40 a weekend.

True Blue was born in 2012 as a one-time event to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Foundation as a gesture of respect to a former NCSO umpire killed in Al Anbar, Iraq in 2007.

The event was such a success, that a group of NCSO baseball and softball officials decided to formalize the program.

True Blue's mission is to raise money for local non-profits that provide educational and preventative services to community youth, and who do so while offering reduced or free costs to those youth who cannot afford to pay.  Particularly, True Blue supports those organizations who- through activity, support, mentorship, and empowerment, offer programs that allow our youth to overcome adversity and learn life skills that may otherwise be unattainable.

In 2024, True Blue is proud to support:

 - Greeley Evans Youth League, Fort Collins Baseball Club, Loveland Baseball Association

-  Folds of Honor: Veteran Support Group

 - Child Safe

 - The Children's Hospital

Funds to support these important agencies are generated through:

- Community Donations

- Fundraising Events (such as our annual golf tournament)

- Umpire/Referee Donation of game fees to project.

True Blue hopes to raise $30,000 in 2024 through these efforts, providing 100 percent of all funds raised directly to these organizations or our efforts to support them.  The Board of Directors are all volunteers, and receive zero compensation for their efforts.  True Blue Board Members:

Taking Care of Those Who Take of Us

THE TRUE BLUE FOUNDATION

Sean Grogan has been officiating since 1988.  Since that time, he has officiated baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, and softball at levels ranging from youth leagues to NCAA (Div 2). Married to Melissa for 23 years, Sean loves spending time with his family, including children Connor (30) and Katy (25).  When not at work or on the field, you can be pretty certain you’ll find Sean hacking away at an area golf course.  Sean’s deep sense of community responsibility led him to found True Blue in 2013, supporting the Northern Colorado communities in which we all work, play, and live.
